چکیده

Robotics are set to play a significant role in the maintenance of rail infrastructure. However, introduction robotics this environment requires new ways working for individuals, teams and organisations needs reflect societal attitudes if it is achieve sustainable goals. The following paper presents qualitative analysis interviews with 25 experts from outline human organisational issues infrastructure environment. Themes were structured around user, team, issues. While results point many expected (trust, acceptance, business change), number identified that specific rail. Examples include importance considering whole task lifecycle, conceptualizing robotic teamworking within structures worksites, complex upstream (robotics suppliers) downstream (third-party contractors) supply chain implications deployment public acceptance an often comes into direct contact passenger people railways. Recommendations made successful, human-centric deployment.

Load Quantification for Light Rail, Heavy Rail, and Commuter Rail Transit Infrastructure

The type and magnitude of loads passing through the track superstructure have a great impact on both the design and the performance of concrete sleepers and fastening systems. To date, the majority of North American research focusing on quantifying rail infrastructure loading conditions has been conducted on heavy-haul freight railroads. However, the results and recommendations from these studi...

Optimal Electricity Pricing for Societal Infrastructure Systems

We develop a general framework for pricing electricity in order to optimally manage the electricity load of societal infrastructures that interact with power systems through their price-responsive electricity load. In such infrastructure systems, electricity is not the sole resource needed to serve users’ needs. Examples include cloud computing infrastructure or electric transportation networks...
